Why This Summer Could Be the Best Time to Start Invisalign

Invisalign has risen to become one of the most popular methods of straightening the teeth in recent years, affording patients incredible convenience and freedom in comparison to other methods of orthodontic treatment.

If you’ve ever been interested in the treatment, you should know that Summer is often the perfect time to get started with Invisalign. Here are a few reasons why that is the case.

More Time for Treatment

When summer rolls around, school lets out and people tend to have a little bit more time on their hands. At the very least, their schedule is often a little bit more flexible. Invisalign tends to be much easier to fit into your schedule than other kinds of orthodontics, but it’s still necessary to talk to your dentist every six weeks or to collect your new aligners, as well as for a routine checkup.

This being the case, summer is an excellent time to get started with your Invisalign treatment. You’ll be able to get the care that you need much more easily than you could otherwise.

Plenty of Time to Relax

Invisalign also tends to be much more comfortable than other ways of straightening your teeth. However, it’s unavoidable that getting used to your new oral appliance will take a little bit of time, and it may even be a little bit stressful when you first sign on for the treatment.

Warm weather and long days make it much easier to relax during summertime. Ideally, this could make the adjustment period a little bit more pleasant.

Great Summer Foods

One of the best things about summer is the food— seasonal fruits, barbecues, and ice cream can all make the season, and things might not feel complete without them.

Thankfully, Invisalign can easily be taken off before meals, which means that you can still eat just about anything that you want. If anything colder foods, like ice cream, can ease some of the discomfort associated with the beginning of Invisalign treatment. Just be sure to thoroughly clean both your teeth and your trays before putting them back onto the teeth.
